Worlds Ugliest Bird - Learn about Kenya common bird species
Vultures, Storks and Babblers (Page 5/10)
Which is the worlds ugliest bird? If we invoked "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" rule, then seriously we can't say that any bird species is ugly. But the fact is, there are those birds that put you off and others that time stands still with their beauty. Again we might not be unanimous on the bird species that takes the top marks as world's ugliest as this is subject to region and also one's exposure to bird and bird watching.

Writing as a bird watching tour operator in Kenya (also an avid birder), we can with conviction say that in Kenya we are hopelessly spoilt with colorful birds species, so when we say a bird is ugly, it is ugly. We therefore consider the Marabou stork as "our" worlds ugliest bird. On looks alone the Marabou Stork is not a beauty, no fault of the bird but the fact that it is nearly always found eating carcasses, dripping with blood etc, any resemblance of beauty is lost.
