Single woman joining a women-only travel group on safari

by Yvonne
(Melbourne )

I’m a single woman , wanting to book a women-only travel group safari in East Africa. I've learnt that 5 of my fellow women travelers are all from one family and group size is limited to 7 women. Do you think I should join this women group?

Solo woman joining a women-only adventure group
by: Anne Huysman , Ontdek Kenya

It is very important that women- solo travelers click well with the bigger part of the women travel group that they are booking a vacation with. This is a decision you must consider consider before paying a deposit for the women-only safari.

With a group size of 7 , it means that only 2 women will be out-siders in this group. While it would be unfair to pre-judge the family and say they will not be warm to you , it does look like the numbers lean too much on the family and there is a chance that their interests will be the most consider in the tour.

But on the other hand be aware that they ( the 5 women from one family) want to be in a bigger group to possibly cut down the tour cost and they for all you know be very welcoming to single( solo) women joining the tour.

Be candid with the women travel company that is arranging your tour and their reply will help you make an informed decision on if you should join this particular women travel group.
