planning a mother, daughter and grand duaghter safari to africa

I am planning a 3 generations women only safari to Africa, for me ( the mother at 71 years), my daughter ( 44 years)and my grand daughter ( 27 years). I want to give it as a surprise gift but I certainly want to get everything right in planning the itinerary. Wildlife viewing is my main priority but I also want to have a lot of free time to just connect with my daughter and grand daughter. We have 10 days on the ground for the safari , is this enough to do Kenya and Tanzania. For our other interests we are relatively active and would want to visit local communities.

Planning a three generations women holiday to africa
by: Anne Huysman , Ontdek Kenya

The quality of an African safari is not so much determined by the number of countries that you visit but by the quality time that you spend viewing wildlife , birding , walking or on photography in the selected national parks.

Putting too many destination s in your 10 days mother-daughter-grand daughter women only safari, might mean that you your safari will be too hectic as you will daily be on move from one national park to the other. You'd also have a lot of 1 night stops that make the safari very tiring.

Consider that the distances between some of the popular parks e.g Masai Mara , Samburu, Tsavo, Ngoro Ngoro Crater and Serengeti are far off with very exhausting drives. While there is the alternative of taking domestic flights between parks - this will come at an extra cost which you need to factor in your safari budget.

With 10 days for 3 generations women safari , you are better of choosing either Kenya or Tanzania and explore one country well rather than just ho between both of them.
