Photo Safaris in Kenya:
Tsavo & Amboseli

Ontdek Kenya's photo safaris are crafted to make your wildlife photography exploration relaxed and memorable. With experience gained since '96 we arrange nature based wildlife safaris that have maximum time in the field and minimal on road transfers. Our concept is to present different parks in Kenya, highlight their photographic value and let you select the ones that suit you. On this page we cover Tsavo & Amboseli, relatively close to each other but each with it's own characteristics making your photo subjects wide. Count on Ontdek to provide flawless ground logistics that will make your photo safari in Kenya stress free.

photo safaris in Tsavo NP

Tsavo National park, the land of the man-eater lions has huge herds of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, oryx, zebras, hippos, crocodiles and numerous colorful birds.

With dramatic scenery of volcanic hills dotted across the land, thick undergrowth with sections of savanna grasslands Tsavo is more wild and less crowded than Masai Mara, Amboseli or Samburu. Tsavo gives you the surprise of seeing a family of elephants the least expected moment emerging from the bush.

Put quality time in your safari by combining Tsavo with Amboseli at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro and has the advantage of having many swamps that are fed by underground rivers coming from the mountain. The swamps are gathering points for game making it easy for pictures of elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, impalas, wildebeests, Grant's gazelles and elands with the backdrop of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro. Bird life in Amboseli is prolific with +400 Kenya birds species recorded. Most of the birds are relatively easy to see and picture.

We recommend 4-6 days for a thorough exploration of Tsavo and Amboseli.
