Ontdek Kenya Safari Review
by Steve and Avril Frankish

Dear Anne and Peter,

I'm writing this Ontdek Kenya safari review because we would like to thank you enormously for our wonderful holiday of a lifetime last week. Everything went like clockwork from our first exchange of e-mails to the last minute changes that we requested and you were able to accommodate.

Kenya safari reviews - walking safari
The one week walking safari including revisiting the environs of Nyeri where I grew up was perfect. All your staff were absolutely first rate. The program you chose for us of Aberdare, Solio, Crescent Island and Hell’s Gate were all absolutely brilliant. I was very impressed at the way you provided first class highly trained and experienced guides – all with knowledge and expertise about the Kenyan wildlife, geography, history and politics of the area. I was also most grateful to you for the unexpected and generous refund which you provided when our lunch at the Kiambethu Tea Plantation in Limuru had to be foregone to ensure that we caught our plane. Thank you, too, for your constant attention to detail throughout the trip including managing to fit in the Limuru trip late in the day when we had expected to be unable to find time.

The second week was also a sheer delight. I am so glad that I left it to you to make the suggestions about the coastal resort. Turtle Bay Beach Club in Watamu was completely first class. The area is full of interest and attractions, many within reach of a moderate bicycle ride. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mangrove Forest in Mida Creek; they have an excellent aerial walkway combined with a fascinating canoe ride. The lost city of Gede which has not changed since I knew it and Sokoke Forest were also both really enjoyable.

In conclusion, I would just like to say that we have recommended your service to our friends and colleagues and will continue to do so. To be honest, we did initially have some concerns about booking direct with a small tour company in the heart of Kenya and transferring the money straight into your bank account. We needn’t have worried – you run a highly professional service and because you employ local guides and have links to other local businesses, we know that our money has contributed to the local economy much more than if we had booked with one of the big name tour companies. We are also glad we went with your suggested itinerary including places we had not heard of and in spite of some prior knowledge of the country. We would be happy for you to provide our contact details to anyone who may be thinking about making a booking.

There are African safaris and there is the Ontdek Kenya safari, which is in a league of it’s own.

Kind regards,

Steve and Avril Frankish UK
