We work hard to design educational itineraries that have soft activities, keep students away from mass tourism and at the same time raise their intellectual curiosity making them question the "whys" of the world around them.

Ontdek has made a deliberate decision to offer educational tours strictly in Kenya, meaning we can maintain the high standards for which we are known for.

What makes Ontdek's educational travel to Kenya unique?

For the Teacher:

  • Ontdek's educational safaris are not off-the-shelf itineraries. We will not just quote for you a price, we will consult with you to ensure that we come up with a travel experience that is educational, mentally stimulating to your students, have soft activities and exposes your students to a new way of thinking. Of course wildlife viewing is important and we ensure that there are a lot of opportunities for it but we delve further than just the animal sightings and learn about animal behavior, territorial habits etc.
  • Our students educational travels are about stress free travel. We give you value-adding ground information that would any day beat a guide book as we know what is the most up to date info of a location. When you land in Kenya we execute flawless ground logistics in transport arrangement, accommodation, entrance to all activity areas and those crucial behind-the-scene arrangements that make everyone have a great time.

  • High School trips in Africa. Students safari in Crater Lake game sanctuary, Kenya.

  • The measure of a good educational tour is not in the number of parks visited but the time devoted to quality learning experience in each place. You can count on our experience on park selection and combination to come up with a relaxed but detailed itinerary that has minimal transfers ensuring that your students have enough time for the educational opportunities that are available in the itinerary. We encourage you to stay in one location for a min of 2-3 nights.
  • We are proud of our educational safari staff who are accomplished naturalists with many years of experience in safari. They will be worth companions to you and your students and they will not only help in animal, birds and plants identification but also in interpretation of animal behavior. Count on them to provide information about the Kenyan culture, politics, religions, conservation and all aspects that make this country tick.
  • We can include social programs like school visits where your students will see how the Kenyan school system works as well interact with students. It is also possible to arrange that your students participate on a project for example planting trees, painting class rooms etc.
  • For the Student:

  • Ontdek's students educational travel team is led by a director with a teaching background, so your needs as a student are clearly understood and your learning interests are taken care of in a fun but educational way. We owe you a tour that can hopefully in one small way even trigger a choice in a career.

  • School travel in Kenya

  • Our school tours are not all-vehicle-bound affairs in crowded national parks. You will enjoy visiting private game conservancies and the small national parks that are full of easy to see game while on walking safaris. Nothing beats the experience of enjoying a guided walk with clear sightings of giraffes, zebras and gazelles. You will not be cooped up in a safari bus throughout the trip, we have a variety of activities from visits to prehistoric sites, bird watching, cultural visits etc.
  • Your educational tour is not restricted to the standard safari rule of morning and afternoon game drives. We go for maximum time in the field but we will also have time to relax.
  • In choosing an outfitter for your school trip it matters that you pick one who shares your interest and is of course reliable. Ontdek Kenya fits this bill and we invite you to consider traveling with us. We look forward to consulting with you for your Kenya school tour. Contact us.
