inforamtion on wildebeest migration safari in East Africa
by: Anne Huysman , Ontdek Kenya

Watching the wildebeest migration is Masai Mara is an experience worth coming to Kenya for and even with the best estimates of when it will start in each year the exact day is only know to nature. I can understand your wanting to time your arrival in Kenya to precisely coincide with when the wildebeest migration are crossing the river ? an affair which last about 2 weeks. To the facts of booking a wildebeest migration safaris , just like you many people are keen to be in Masai Mara during the crossing period and lodges and tented camps are normally booked to capacity months in advance. So leaving you booking to the the very last day might mean that you may not have a lodge/camp to stay in or you may not get your preferred safari lodge/camp, in Mara.

Of course if you want to do basic camping in public camps site ? you will always get ? an place to squeeze in? but is this what you want for your migration safari?

You best bet is talk with your experienced safari operator and with his guidance, book your stay in Mara at the most likely time to see the wildebeest migration but it leaving it too late may be to your advantage.
